SNEAK PEEK AT NEGAN The Walking Dead Finale Title And Synopsis Revealed
Ahead of Sunday night’s penultimate episode of The Walking Dead‘s sixth season, the title and synopsis of the finale episode have been released.
The final episode of The WalkingDead‘s sixth season is titled, “Last Day on Earth.” The official synopsis reads, “To save one of their own, Rick’s group must venture outside the walls; their experience changes their lives forever.”
We were expecting things to be brutal in the finale episode but with a title like “Last Day on Earth,” it’s clear that the extended episode is not to be taken lightly. Negan will be making his first appearance at some point during the episode and it is certainly going to rock our and the characters’ worlds.
Based on the synopsis, it’s safe to assume that one or a couple of Alexandrians have been taken hostage by the Saviors. The likely bet would be Carol is a hostage, considering she is outside of the Safe-Zone on her own, but in Sunday’s episode several characters pursue her.
Most fans have been expecting the season to conclude with a main character’s death at the hands (or bat) of Negan so most haven’t stopped to think that more than one character can be lost.
Whilst quickly removed from the internet, a promo for episode 16 was leaked on Dutch television on Friday 25, giving us plenty to talk about. The 30 second peek foreshadows an encounter with Negan’s group, The Saviors, where Rick says to them:
We can make a deal — right here, right now
A less than cheerful response from The Saviors says:
Sorry, we don’t negotiate
It appears that luck could have run out for Rick Grimes and his plucky group of apocalypse survivors as they finally get to meet Negan. After last week losing Dr. Denise Cloyd, we are promised at least one more death before the end of the season.
The episode, Last Day on Earth, airs on April 3, where it looks like Negan and his barbed wire wrapped baseball bat (dubbed Lucille) will be causing trouble for our series regulars. The promo only gives away a snippet and whilst we don’t see him face on, the voiceover and signature bat in hand assures us that the leather glad figure is in factTWD‘s worst villain to date.
Creator Robert Kirkman recently toldEW about an impending death in season six’s finale:
All I want to say is, read the comic, but you’re not going to know what to expect…Part of the reason that that moment was such a big deal in the comic is the fact that you did not expect that it was going to happen, and so we’re very confident that we found a way to keep it as unexpected in the show as it was in the comic.
So it should be just as intense, just as heartbreaking, and just as shocking.
That said, fans can rest assured knowing the the “extras will be extra-special on Blu-ray.”
Negan will make his grand debut when The Walking Dead: Season 6’s 90-minute finale
The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 PM ET on AMC.
