Willie Nelson Sick, Concerts Affected

Country legend Willie Nelson has canceled a show and rescheduled two others due to an unspecified illness.

A statement on Nelson’s Facebook page reads: “Unfortunately Willie has been feeling under the weather so a couple dates have been rescheduled and one cancelled. Sorry for the inconvenience.”

Poor health aside, Nelson has enjoyed another impressive year in his storied career. In July, he was announced as the 2015 recipient of the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. The Gershwin prize recognizes a living music artist’s lifetime achievement in promoting song to enhance cultural understanding; and its previous recipients include Paul McCartney, Billy Joel and Carole King. The singer-songwriter and guitarist is due to receive the award in Washington this November.

Nelson, who is president and founder of Farm Aid, this year celebrated the 30th anniversary of the organization that supports America’s family farmers.

Willie Nelson’s affected concert dates:
Oct. 15 — Florence, SC (rescheduled to April 6, 2016)
Oct. 16 — Roanoke, VA (rescheduled to Oct. 19)
Oct. 17 Reading, PA (cancelled)
