Watch Korn and Slipknot Cover Beastie Boys’ ‘Sabotage’ in London

Korn and Slipknot kicked off the European leg of their joint Prepare for Hell tour earlier this month in Dublin, Ireland. While Korn’s setlists hadn’t changed over the first week of the leg – in fact, their setlists have remained uniform for the entirety of the tour – Jonathan Davis and company mixed things up for the band’s performance at London’s legendary Wembley Arena by covering the Beastie Boys‘ “Sabotage” alongside Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, who joined Korn on vocals for their heavy rendition of the Beasties classic.

Prior to the Wembley show, Korn’s Instagram hinted that the band and Slipknot were “maybe doing a cover tonight in London” by posting a photo of the two bands performing together in soundcheck. After the concert, Korn announced on Twitter they planned to release video of their entire “Sabotage.” They also linked to “a little teaser” of that video, which shows the performance from the perspective of a Go-Pro camera that hovered over the band and the crowd.

The “Sabotage” cover marked the first time either band tackled the Ill Communication single onstage. It’s unclear why Korn opted to perform that song other than the “Sabotage” single arrived around the same time Korn was recording their influential self-titled debut album.

Slipknot are currently on the road in support of their devastating new LP .5: The Gray Chapter, one of Rolling Stone’s 20 Best Metal Albums of 2014. “I don’t think I’ve ever been this honest,” Taylor told Rolling Stone of the album, which was inspired by the death of band member Paul Gray. “I don’t think I’ve ever been this introspective or focused. I was trying to show that just when you think the hardest part is losing someone, it’s sometimes even harder to move forward.”
