TRAILER SHOWS WHAT ELI ROTH AND JASON BLUM HAVE BUILT SOUTH OF HELL … HORROR NEWS

A couple weeks ago, WE tv announced that they were taking an unusual approach to the premiere of the supernatural thriller series South of Hell, which is executive produced by Jason Blum (INSIDIOUS,SINISTER). Instead of airing a new episode weekly, WE tv is essentially doing this Netflix style, airing all seven episodes of the show back-to-back.

The South of Hell binge event is happening on Black Friday, November 27th, with the first episode beginning at 6pm EST and the last episode ending at 1am Saturday. To help entice you to spend seven straight hours watching the show, WE tv has released a 30 second promo that can be viewed below.

South of Hell is set in

Charleston, South Carolina, an elusive city with many faces and the perfect home for Maria Abascal (Mena Suvari), a stunning, 30-year-old demon hunter for hire. Alongside her brother, David (Zachary Booth), she is skilled and fearless in her pursuit of the demons that live in others. Like those that she hunts, Maria is divided within herself, struggling with her own demon, Abigail, who resides inside of her, feeding on the evil Maria exorcises from others. Maria and Abigail share a soul and a destiny, but as Maria desperately tries to overtake Abigail, she will discover how far Abigail will go to remain a part of her.

Suvari and Booth are joined in the cast by Bill Irwin as Maria and David’s cult leader father, Drew Moerlein as Maria’s neighbor, Lamman Rucker as a reverend who is attracted to Maria, Paula Singer as the reverend’s daughter, Lydia Hearst as a Southern belle, Slate Holmgren as a drug dealer called Sweetmouth, and Lauren Velez as a spiritual informant.

Eli Roth directed the pilot episode, which was written by Matt Lambert. Directors of subsequent episodes include Ti West, Rachel Talalay, Jennifer Lynch, and Jeremiah Chechik.

As soon as the binge event ends, all episodes of South of Hell will be available on VOD.

I’m not likely to partake in the binge, but this looks to be an entertaining show that I definitely want to watch at some point. Check out the trailer and see what you think:
