Status Quo’s Rick Parfitt has died at the age of 68

​Rick Parfitt, the guitarist from Status Quo, has died at the age of 68, his manager has confirmed.

Rick died in hospital in Spain from an infection after being admitted on Thursday with complications to a shoulder injury.
In June the rock musician suffered from a huge heart attack; the band’s manager Simon Porter said at the time of the announcement that the attack had ‘resulted in mild cognitive impairments’.
In 1997 Rick had a quadruple bypass and in 2014 he suffered from another major cardiac arrest but he said: ‘It was a bigger heart attack this time, much more serious.
‘I’d done a show in Turkey and went to bed. The PA lad came back with something for me eat – and found me on the floor.’
Status Quo found fame in the Seventies with hits including Whatever You Want, Rockin’ All Over The World, and Down Down,and they are currently on tour with Ritchie Malone replacing Rick after he stepped down from the band in October.
