Rolling Stones Announce 2016 Tour… Museum Style

The Rolling Stones still have two weeks left in their Zip Code Tour, but after their North American romp wraps, fans have another helping of Stones mania coming their way. This morning (July 1), the five-decade rock legends announcedExhibitionism, a career-spanning, museum-style display of Stones artifacts and memorabilia beginning April 6, 2016 in London’s Saatchi Gallery.

Following three months in London, the 500-artifact showing will travel the world. It’s set to hit 11 other cities, including New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo.

According to a press release, the show will include “original stage designs, dressing room and backstage paraphernalia; rare guitars and instruments, iconic costumes, rare audio tracks and unseen video clips; personal diaries and correspondence; original poster and album cover artwork, and unique cinematic presentations.” All this will be displayed across two floors in the Saatchi Gallery.

It will also include collaborations and work from famed creatives like Andy Warhol, Shepard Fairey, Alexander McQueen, Ossie Clark, Tom Stoppard, and Martin Scorsese.

“While this is about The Rolling Stones, it’s not necessarily only just about the members of the band,” Keith Richards said. “It’s also about all the paraphernalia and technology associated with a group like us, and it’s this, as well as the instruments that have passed through our hands over the years, that should make the exhibition really interesting.”

Tickets go on sale to the public on July 10 at 9 a.m. local time.
