Reports Indicate One Crew Member Killed, Another Injured in Paris Concert Attack

One Eagles of Death Metal crew member has reportedly been killed, and another injured during the tragic attack during the band’s concert in Paris tonight.

The group were in the middle of a concert when gunmen opened fire inside Le Bataclan, the club where the band was playing. At this time, Patrick Klugman, deputy mayor of Paris, is reporting that 118 people were killed inside the club, and at least 153 people in a series of coordinated attacks on the city.

Most reports indicate that the band members themselves escaped unharmed, but Fox 5 San Diego is reporting that one unnamed crew member was murdered and another injured.

Michael Dorio, brother of EoDM drummer Julian Dorio, told Atlanta news outlet WSBTV that he spoke with his brother shortly after the shooting. Michael told the news outlet what his brother reported:

“He said they were playing, about six songs into the show, they heard, before they saw anything, they heard automatic machine gunfire. It was so loud, it was louder than the band, and they hit the stage floor. As they got up to try to evacuate they saw men with machine guns just shooting anything and everything in the venue. They heard more than they could see because of the stage lights.”

David Ian Hughes, brother of EoDM singer Jesse Hughes, said in a post on Facebook that Jesse is safe.

Jesse Hughes is ok. I spoke to him about an hour ago. The band is ok too. I hold out hope that as many people as possible make it out ok, as well. As the situation is still developing, I can not say much else.

After the initial attack, the gunmen took the concert-goers hostage. Police raided the venue, ending the hostage situation. Two gunmen were killed in the process, according to Billboard.

Other locations in and around Paris are reported as having been attacked as well, including a restaurant, and the Saint-Denis stadium, where the German and French national soccer teams were competing.
