Otep’s Shamaya “The Butcher Babies are fucking bimbos who look like shit and sound like shit, I am going to either break one’s jaw or ribs and the other can suck a fart out of my ass

Otep frontwoman  Otep Shamaya was the guest on The Jasta Show (audio below), the podcast hosted by Hatebreed‘s Jamey Jasta, discussing her career and label changes amongst other topics. During the interview, she minced no words when it came to airing her beef with Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey, the dueling frontwomen of Butcher Babies.

Shamaya started off by calling the Butcher Babies “a little tiny band that’s fronted by a couple of fucking moronic bimbos.” Before revealing the name of the group, she tore into the two, stating, “One of ’em, if I see her I’m going to give her the option of like ‘do you want your jaw broken or your ribs broken? Just let me know which your sugar daddy can fix easier.’”

Throughout the next few minutes, she unloaded on the Butcher Babies’ frontwomen in a profanity-laced tirade, adding, “Heidi can fucking suck a fart out of my ass.” Shamaya mentioned she brought the band on tour before they were even signed, but that the rift began when the Otep frontwoman turned down partying with the two singers.

“The reason why they got so mad at me was because I wouldn’t hang out and do blow with them after the show. I wouldn’t come and do cocaine. I don’t do drugs,” Shamaya explained. “But they got so mad that I wouldn’t fucking hang out and do drugs with them and party with them every night. I’m like, ‘Dude I got a show tomorrow, you guys should be paying attention too cause you sound like fucking shit every night. You look like shit. You should be taking care — you should maybe drink some apple juice or something, take care of yourself.’”

Citing that the Butcher Babies wrote “Dead Poet” about her, Shamaya learned of the track after the band began to call her out on YouTube. The singer also recalled sharing dressing rooms with Shepherd and Harvey, among other kind gestures while on tour.

“I saw her at Knotfest, because we played Knotfest,” the vocalist stated of Shepherd. “I saw her at Knotfest and I was like ‘Yo Heidi, I’m right here,’ and she just like ran away as fast as she could. She don’t want this bro, like fucking throwing a tiger a piece of meat.”

Otep last released Generation Doom last year, featuring new cuts like “In Cold Blood” and “Lords of War.”
