FRI/SAT/SUN
Peter Mayhew was cast as Chewbacca, the loyal sidekick and co-pilot of scoundrel and pilot of the Millineum Falcon, Han Solo. Once cast as Chewie, Peter made several visits to his local zoo where he studied the movements and mannerisms of bears, monkeys and gorillas, which lead to him bringing one of most memorable characters of the Star Wars franchise to life.
He truly embodied Chewbacca and proved himself irreplaceable, which lead to Peter being asked to bring the mighty wookiee back to life for The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978), the Empire Strikes Back (1980), The Muppet Show (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983).
ROBERT ENGLUND
A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET
FRI/SAT/SUN
After five years of success in regional theater Robert Englund returned to the west coast where he had grown up. His very first audition landed him a starring role in the 1973 film Buster and Billie directed by Daniel Petrie.
Far from living the classic hand to mouth existence of a struggling actor, Englund worked steadily through the 70’s playing best friends, bad guy #1 and southern red-necks and starring opposite Henry Fonda, Susan Sarandon, Jeff Bridges, Sally Field and Arnold Schwarzenegger among others.
In the 70’s, regarded as the second Golden Age of American movies, Englund was privileged to work for such classic film directors as Robert Aldrich, Robert Mulligan, J. Lee Thompson, Bob Rafelson and John Milius.
During this time Englund was living in Malibu, fishing off his porch at high tide and surfing when not slogging through traffic on the seemingly endless rounds of interviews and call-backs that fill the days of every working actor. He guest starred in scores of TV shows as well as working alongside some of the biggest stars of that decade including Barbra Streisand, Richard Gere, Burt Reynolds and Charles Bronson.
Finally audiences could put a name to his familiar face when Englund was cast as Willie the friendly alien in the hit mini-series and subsequent weekly TV show V. Within weeks, Englund went from questions like: Didnt I go to high school with you to Arent you that lizard guy on TV. Over twenty-five years later Willie still generates fan mail from science fiction devotees both in America and around the world.
The series was a huge success. As a result Englund figured he would be eternally typecast as a sweet and lovable alien. To counter-balance this public image, he looked for a role that would allow him to demonstrate another side of his talents. During one hiatus from filming the series, he auditioned for a hot young director making an interesting low budget horror movie for the independent studio New Line Cinema. Englund’s interview with Wes Craven landed him the role playing the burn scarred dream demon Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street and launched him into horror history.
An international hit, the movie made New Line Cinema a major Hollywood player and prompted seven sequels and a syndicated TV series. The character of Freddy Krueger has appeared on talk shows, comic books, rap videos, and even a cartoon appearance as a guest on The Simpsons. There are numerous Freddy Krueger action figures, dolls, and attendant merchandising. Gottlieb came out with a very popular pin-ball machine based on the movies.
Englund’s portrayal of Freddy Krueger blasted him into the pop culture vernacular as heir apparent to the horror icons of the past, destined to stand alongside Lon Chaney’s Phantom of the Opera and Boris Karloff’s monster in Frankenstein.
In the mid 80’s Englund starred in the hour long network TV series Downtown, a serio-comic look at parolees. The short lived series also starred Blair Underwood and Marishka Hargitay.
Acting on the small screen afforded Englund the opportunity to work with such diverse talent as Lillian Gish, Jack Warden, Sissy Spacek, Martin Balsam, Richard Thomas, James Earl Jones, Bruce Davidson, Lou Gosset and Hal Holbrook.
The international success of V and the Nightmare on Elm Street sequels opened the door for film work abroad. Englund has starred in movies shot in such exotic locales as Budapest, St. Petersburg, Tel Aviv, Johannesburg, Madrid, Palermo, Barcelona and Zagreb.
Englund is sought after as a guest at film festivals all over Europe and has served on juries and been celebrated with awards at festivals in Paris, Rome, Brussels and Sitges (Spain) to name a few.
After over 75 feature length films, four TV series and countless episodic guest star roles – the most recent being guest leads on Criminal Minds and Workaholics, Englund is now directing as well as acting, and exploring the world of reality television and internet programming. He was recently seen co-starring with Malcolm McDowell and John Glover in the film Sanitarium. Two movies, The Last Showing with Finn Jones and the horror pic Fear Clinic with Thomas Dekker, were released in 2014.
Robert’s latest films include Lake Placid vs. Anaconda, Master of Orion: Conquer the Stars, and Nightworld.
Robert Englund will be appearing at Niagara Falls Comic Con all three days.

STING
WWE LEGEND
SUN ONLY
WWE Legend Sting is known for his time spent as the public face of two major pro wrestling companies: the now-defunct World Championship Wrestling (WCW), which displaced the World Wrestling Federation as the leading pro wrestling organization in the United States from 1995–1998; and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). Sting is regarded as one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time, having cultivated a legacy over a career spanning more than three decades.
Sting’s 14-year tenure with WCW and its predecessor, Jim Crockett Promotions (JCP), began in 1987. Dubbed “The Franchise of WCW”, Sting held a total of 15 championships in the promotion – including the WCW World Heavyweight Championship on six occasions, the WCW International World Heavyweight Championship on two occasions, and the NWA World Heavyweight Championship on one occasion – and made more pay-per-view (PPV) appearances for the company than any other wrestler. He headlined the highest-grossing PPV event in WCW history at Starrcade in 1997. Upon the acquisition of WCW by the WWF in March 2001, Sting and his long-term rival Ric Flair were chosen to perform in the main event of the final episode of Nitro.
Following the expiration of his contract with WCW’s parent company, AOL Time Warner, in March 2002, Borden held talks with the WWF but ultimately did not join the promotion, instead touring internationally with World Wrestling All-Stars(WWA) – winning the WWA World Heavyweight Championship – before joining the then-upstart TNA in 2003. Over the following 11 years, he won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship on one further occasion and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship four times, and was the inaugural inductee into the TNA Hall of Fame in 2012. He is the only man to hold the NWA, WCW, (WWA additionally) and TNA world championships in a career.
Previously described by WWE as the greatest wrestler never to have performed for that promotion, Sting finally joined the company in 2014, making his first appearance at Survivor Series and having his debut match at WrestleMania 31 the following year. His last ever bout, at Night of Champions in 2015, marked his sole PPV main event and WWE World Heavyweight Championship contest (and title match) for the organization. Sting headlined the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2016 on April 2, where he announced his retirement. His induction renders him the only performer to be inducted into both the WWE and TNA Hall of Fame, as well as the second man to be inducted while an active WWE wrestler, after Ric Flair.
Sting held 25 total championships throughout his career, including 21 between WCW and TNA. Readers of Pro Wrestling Illustrated named him “Most Popular Wrestler of the Year” on four occasions, a record he shares with John Cena.
Sting will be appearing Sunday only, in FULL makeup and costume.

RICK MARTEL
WWE LEGEND
SAT/SUN
Rick “the Model” Martel is a former three time WWE Tag Team Champion, as well as a 595-day AWA World Heavyweight Champion, the championship’s third longest.
After tiring of being one-half of pretty boy tag teams like The Can-Am Connection and Strike Force, Martel turned his back on partner Tito Santana at WrestleMania V, venturing out on his own in singles competition. Long viewed as one of WWE’s best looking competitors, the native of Cocoa Beach, Fla. embraced his good looks and entered the world of modeling. “The Model” quickly became in demand with designers in Paris and New York, a fact that Martel was quick to rub in the face of the WWE Universe, pinning an oversized button that read “Yes. I am a model.” to his trendy sport coat.
Few Superstars have ever had their essence, the detail of what makes them a Superstar, distilled into a cologne. Rick “The Model” Martel did. He carried the noxious substance around with him in an atomizer, ready to spray it in the face of any Superstar, leaving them with stinging eyes and a knowledge of what made Martel successful in the ring and on the runway: Arrogance.
Martel also went on to join WCW, winning the Television Championship before retiring due to injury.
Rick “the Model” Martel will be appearing at Niagara Falls Comic Con Saturday and Sunday only.

In 1987, he and Rick Martel teamed up to form Strike Force and win the World Tag Team Championships. At the beginning of the 1990s, he would breathe new life into his career by adopting the persona of “El Matador,” entertaining a whole new generation of WWE fans.
