MÖTLEY CRÜE’s VINCE NEIL Reportedly Signs On For ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’

According to TMZ, MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil has signed on as the first contestant for the next season of “The Celebrity Apprentice”, NBC‘s long-running business reality show.

Neil has been in talks to appear on “The Celebrity Apprentice” since at least 2013. He told Las Vegas’s Fox 5 television station in November of that year that he “went down to NBC and met with the [‘The Celebrity Apprentice’] producers and the network and stuff. And they figure, everything’s great, they don’t wanna announce anything, but… That’s all I ever said — that I’m up for it. So I never said I was going to be on it. I said I’m up for it.”

NBC put the “Apprentice” franchise on hold after Donald Trump, the show’s host since it launched in 2004, entered the Republican race for president. He has since been replaced by Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former California governor and a world-famous movie star, known for films like the “Terminator” series.

Arnold‘s first season is scheduled to premiere in September.

The celebrity version of “The Apprentice” has contestants compete to win money for their favorite charities. Celebrity contestants take part in business-driven tasks around New York City and work grueling hours on mentally challenging tasks that test their ability to work together.

Previous rockers who have appeared on “The Celebrity Apprentice” include TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider and POISON‘s Bret Michaels.

Ratings for “The Celebrity Apprentice” have been down considerably since the show premiered in 2004, with the show’s most recent season, in January and February 2015, averaging 7.6 million viewers.
