Misfits Part Ways With Dez Cadena, Announce New Lineup for ‘Static Age’ Revisited Tour

The Misfits have announced a new list of tour dates for 2015 during which they’ll play their classic 1977 disc Static Age in its entirety. The band also revealed that on those dates, fans will see a new face onstage. Guitarist Dez Cadena, who’s been playing with the Misfits since 2001, has parted ways with the band. In a post on Facebook, the group said they “wish Dez the best with his future endeavors, and the Misfits begin a new chapter.” That new chapter includes Misfit singer and bassist Jerry Only’s son Jerry Jr. taking Cadena’s place on guitar.

The new lineup won’t just be touring together, they’re also working on new studio material. Fans will get to hear two new songs from that lineup in the fall. The songs are written by Jerry Only and titled “Zombie Girl” and “Vampire Girl.”

The Misfits’ Static Age Revisited tour kicks off in the U.K. on Aug. 1 in London and they’ll bring their trek to North America starting on Aug. 8 in Nashville, Tenn. Concertgoers can expect to hear every song from the group’s debut disc in sequence, with visuals created by Only as the backdrop. The band will also be playing some of their other greatest hits and fan-favorite tracks during the shows. They wrap up their North American Static Age dates on Nov. 27 in Chicago, Ill. Check out a full list of their North American tour dates below.

As an added feature for those fans in the New York City area or in Hollywood, Calif., the band will be playing two consecutive nights of shows. During those dates, the group will be performing a special Static Age Revisited: Night Two show. That second night, the band will play their Walk Among Us and Earth A.D. albums in full for fans in attendance.
