Marvel’s ‘Luke Cage’ Enlists ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Star Theo Rossi

‘Daredevil’ star Rosario Dawson will also reprise her role on Netflix’s next Marvel series as the love interest for Luke Cage.

Netflix’s next Marvel series, Luke Cage, is rounding out its cast with some familiar faces

Sons of Anarchy alum Theo Rossi has landed a series regular role, while Daredevil star Rosario Dawson is set to reprise her role as Claire Temple in the new Marvel series, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Rossi, who starred as SAMCRO member-turned-rat Juan Carlos “Juice” Ortiz in Kurt Sutter‘s FX biker drama for seven seasons, will play Luke Cage’s (Mike Colter) enemy Shades — aka Alvarez — a well-known criminal. He is described as relentless and menacing, smooth and manipulative, street smart and controlling.

Dawson’s Claire, who first appeared in Netflix’s Daredevil series as Matt Murdock’s (Charlie Cox) love interest and personal doctor, will also appear in the second Netflix/Marvel series Jessica Jones along with Colter’s Cage, before moving to Luke Cage. In the comic books, Claire is a romantic interest for Luke Cage, though it’s unclear as of now whether the show will follow the comic books for that storyline.

Luke Cage centers on a wrongly accused man who obtains superstrength after a sabotaged experiment and escapes prison to become a superhero for hire. The third Marvel series for Netflix is executive produced byCheo Hodari Coker, produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios.

Rossi is repped by Greene & Associates and Management 360; Dawson is with CAA and Untitled.
