Live Nation Fined For Refusing AC/DC Ticket Refunds To Fans Who Didn’t Want To See The Band With Axl Rose

According to The Pulse Of Radio, authorities in Spain have fined AC/DC concert promoters Live Nation for refusing to issue ticket refunds to fans who didn’t want to see the band with Axl Rose on lead vocals. Although Live Nation initially stated that any fans who no longer wanted to attend a GUNS show last May 10 in Seville, Spain would be granted a refund, the company stopped taking requests after just three days due to high demand. As a result, Live Nation has been fined the euro equivalent of $16,000 by The General Directorate of Economy and Commerce of the City of Seville.

Fans still have up to five years from the date of the show to ask for refunds, and have been urged to do so by the authorities.

Live Nation initially offered the refund when fans complained that they did not want to see Rose singing instead of Brian Johnson, who had to leave AC/DC‘s world tour on doctor’s orders or face total hearing loss.

Rose did a string of European and North American concerts with the band, mostly to fan and critical acclaim.

A Spanish consumer protection organization nevertheless state that the replacement “meant a substantial change in the conditions of the concert, and was a justified cause for claiming a refund” without a deadline being set.

It is unknown whether Rose will continue singing with AC/DC. The band’s future remains in doubt after the band completed its world tour in support of 2014’s “Rock Or Bust”, a cycle that saw a massive turnover in the group’s personnel. Guitarist and sole original member Angus Young has not yet indicated whether the group will continue recording and touring.
