Listen to Sam Smith’s Bond Theme ‘Writing’s On The Wall’
After a lot of hype and anticipation, Sam Smith shared “Writing’s On The Wall,” his theme song for the upcoming James Bond film Spectre this morning. The singer debuted the single on BBC Radio 1’s morning show, after which it was made available on Spotify.
“I tried to put myself in the shoes of Bond,” Smith told NPR. “My music is a diary and it’s a recap of my life, and I wanted to bring that kind of honesty. In the lyrics — “How do I live, how do I breathe? / When you’re not here I’m suffocating” — I wanted a touch of vulnerability from Bond, where you see into his heart a little bit.”

Smith shared his excitement about the release on Twitter, saying he’d dreamt of the moment for a “long long time.”
