Linkin Park Release New Video Discussing New Album. Watch Here

LINKIN PARK has released a video update from the studio in which the members of the band discuss the lyrical themes covered on their upcoming seventh album.

The yet-to-be-titled new LINKIN PARK effort does not yet have a release date, but will follow up 2014’s “The Hunting Party”.

LINKIN PARK singer Chester Bennington said: “There are songs that don’t specifically talk about situations, they talk about a frame of thinking. Like, ‘This is shit that’s going on inside my head,’ or, ‘This is something that I’m dealing with.’ To me, also, it tells a story, but it’s also revealing as well in another way, and that feels honest to me.

“People ask me, ‘You guys are in the studio, right?’ ‘Yeah.’ ‘Well, what’s it like?’ I’m, like, ‘Well, we’re just focused on writing really great songs that mean something to people.’

He continued: “We’re trying to connect with people. We’re trying to make a record that has fucking stellar songs that people wanna listen to all the time.”

LINKIN PARK singer Mike Shinoda recently hinted that there might be some “featured artists” on the new CD, adding that the band also worked with “other people” during the writing process. But he added, “It’s still us. It’s self-produced . It’s all us, curated by us at the very least. It’s a LINKIN PARK record.” Shinoda also said that the biggest challenge of recording this new disc was that “we approached the process differently.”

LINKIN PARK guitarist Brad Delson added: “There’s a certain amount of experimentation and failure, essentially trial and error that’s baked into this process. We’ve made so many records and we clearly know how to make a record and we definitely didn’t take the easy way out this time.”

Delson continued: “The songs are shaping up so well, we just want them to be as phenomenal when we share them with you… as we imagine them in our heads.”
