Rapper Troy Ave Shot And At Least 1Dead 3 Wounded In Shooting During T.I. Concert. Video

A shooting left at least four people wounded Wednesday night during a concert at Irving Plaza in Union Square. one fatally

Inside sources in Troy Ave’s camp have confirmed with XXL that the New York rapper was shot in the leg during tonight’s shooting at Irving Plaza. We’re told he’s now in the hospital.

Shots were fired at the concert venue, at 17 Irving Pl. near Union Square, around 10 p.m., officials told CBS2.

Four people were confirmed to be wounded in the shooting.

A 34-year-old man was shot in the chest and a 33-year-old man was shot in the abdomen, officials said. Both were taken to Bellevue Hospital Center in critical condition and were likely to die of their wounds.

A 26-year-old woman was shot in the left leg and was also taken to Bellevue, officials said. She was expected to survive.

A fourth person was also shot and found his or her own way to NYU Langone Medical Center. That victim’s condition was not known.

As CBS2’s Dave Carlin reported, multiple blocks were cordoned off near the scene, including a significant section of busy 14th Street just to the south.

Many people panicked as they wondered what was going on. Twitter video showed the scene inside the concert venue after shots rang out.

Concertgoers talked about the chaos.

“It was about to go on. We saw, like, two people up on the VIP arguing, and then everybody started running because they heard the shots,” one woman said. “It was terrifying. We just kept running with everybody else because they were running for their lives, so we just started running, and I fell, and I got stomped on a little bit. My shoe came off.”

“We had no idea where it was coming from, so we just were running out for the exit, you know, anywhere we possibly could,” a man added.

An ambulance was seen pulling away from the scene around 11 p.m., which may have been transporting someone injured as people scrambled for their lives, CBS2’s Carlin reported.

T.I. is a major hip-hop star based in Atlanta. Back in 2006, shots were fired another show he performed in Cincinnati, and left his friend and personal assistant Philant Johnson dead.

Sources said the shooting at the 1,200 seat concert venue started with a quarrel backstage.

CBS2 is told that Irving Plaza security conducts patdowns, but might not have metal detectors.
