Korn’s Jonathan Davis on Debut Album: ‘I Don’t Like Fucking Playing That Fucking Record’ Will Never Play it again after tour wraps

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of their debut album, Korn have been touring and playing the record in its entirety. While fans were overjoyed at the opportunity to see the influential album performed in full, singer Jonathan Davis did not revel in the idea. Being far removed from the mental space he was in when the album came out, revisiting the music has not been fun.

In an interview with breal.tv, the frontman was questioned alongside Eddie Hermida, vocalist for tourmates Suicide Silence. The two chatted with each other and shared stories between questions, which naturally came to a discussion about the conclusion of Korn’s tour. Letting out some frustration, Davis smiled and said, “I’m so motherfucking happy I don’t gotta play this fucking album again after this tour. I’m gonna be straight up honest. I don’t like fucking playing that fucking record.”

Elaborating on why he feels this way, the singer continued, “It’s dark, it fucks with my head. I’ve gotten into the worst depression on this tour. It’s just some shit that needs to go to bed.” He doesn’t regret the tour, adding, “I’m glad I did it. The only reason I did it was for the fans so they could come out and feel that and see that. Don’t ask again, I’m not gonna do it again. I’m getting too old for this shit.” Davis’ comments come toward the end of the interview around the 14:00 minute mark, which can be viewed above.

Having just revisited the disc on tour, Korn will now get back to work on their upcoming album
