Jon Bon Jovi Producing ‘If I Wasn’t a Rock Star’ Reality Show
Jon Bon Jovi is entering the reality TV arena.
The rock star is teaming up with The Weinstein Company-Dimension, Prototype Entertainment and 3 Ball Entertainment to produce a new nonfiction series titled If I Wasn’t a Rock Star.
The series will feature music stars who ditch their celebrity lifestyles to go back to their hometowns and experience the lives they may have led if they hadn’t made it big.
TWC-Dimension co-chairman Bob Weinstein and TWC svp television Patrick Reardon will serve as executive producers. They will develop the series in conjunction with Prototype’s Frank Rainone and Teresa Sorkin, who will also executive-produce with Bon Jovi.
The series will be produced by 3 Ball Entertainment, with CEO Todd A. Nelson and COO Brant Pinvidic also attached as executive producers.
“I was drawn to this project simply because it will be a celebration of the working men and women of this country,” Bon Jovi said in a statement. “They are the real rock stars.”
There is no network currently attached.
The announcement comes as The Weinstein Company is in the process of selling its TV division to British broadcaster ITV.
