‘Jem and the Holograms’ Live Action Movie Trailer Hits the Web: Watch
Remember Jem and the Holograms? If not, that’s OK because you’ll get a chance to soak it all up pretty soon. The camp ‘80s pop band cartoon is getting a live-action big-screen reboot.
Penciled in for release this December through Universal Pictures, the film follows music exec Jerrica Benton who lives a secret double life as Jem, the pink-haired lead singer in the famous pop group the Holograms.
Aubrey Peeples (Tokarev, Sharknado, Nashville) stars as Jem, alongside a cast that also includes Juliette Lewis and Molly Ringwald. Jon M. Chu, who helmed the documentary Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, directs the movie. Jason Blum and Scooter Braun are executive producing the movie, with Bieber’s well-connected manager helping to score original songs for the movie.
It’s a safe bet that merch and music spin-offs will be a huge part of the rollout. And all just in time for Christmas. Watch the trailer below.
