Jason Statham isn’t one to say no to sequels (THE TRANSPORTER series, THE EXPENDABLES trilogy), so it doesn’t come as a huge surprise that he will return as Deckard Shaw in FAST & FURIOUS 8. Statham confirmed to Access Hollywood his character will be back for the FURIOUS 7 sequel.

I’m a newcomer, I just got invited to the party in this last one, so it’s nice to know I’m going to be doing another.

Statham didn’t reveal any details on the next entry in the franchise (“They’ve always got something good up their sleeve and I don’t want to be the one who spoils everything.”) but did say, “there is some great stuff I already know about.”

Besides the central family of characters in Vin Diesel‘s gang, Dwayne Johnson will reprise his Luke Hobbs role, and Kurt Russell is also expected to return as Frank Petty in FAST & FURIOUS 8, which will be set in New York City. FURIOUS 7 will hit Blu-ray/DVD on September 15, 2015, and FAST & FURIOUS 8 is scheduled to open on April 14, 2017.
