Interview with MC Lars
MC Lars is the creator of post punk laptop rap and lit-hop, which in the past decade he fused with rap, punk, rock, ska, pop and EDM. Lars is a true DIY artist and has managed to collaborate with such friends as “Weird Al Yankovic”, KRS-One, Sage Francis, Watsky, mc chris, MC Frontalot and K.Flay. He has played shows worldwide with Bowling for Soup, Wheatus, Say Anything, Gym Class Heroes, Brand New, Simple Plan, T-Pain, Snoop Dogg and Nas. He has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York.
When not touring, Lars works with young people, teaching them about the connections between hip-hop and literature. Lars has presented at various TEDx conferences and at numerous colleges and high schools in America and the UK. He has worked with the American Heart Association, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the Nantucket Historical Association, the Edgar Allen Poe House and Museum and the LA public school system through the USC Annenberg School for Communication.
