“So it was during the “Sweet Dreams” song when Manson was hanging off the gun prop that was attached to the Truss support . He leaned back while hanging onto the support part of the prop. he arched backwards while still holding on. when he noticed that the prop was falling, he fell onto the floor after letting go.The prop fell onto his legs mainly because he put them up to brace the fall. after several crew members lifted the prop off of him, he was holding his right leg and was in obvious pain. He was never unconscious following the incident. i know this for sure because i was so close to the stage and because im an FDNY Paramedic. He tried getting back up but was unable to bear weight on his legs. The standby EMTS arrived. During their assessment of him, they obstructed the view with a sheet.When the sheet was removed, i could see them carrying him out on a blue longboard and took him to the hospital. A Longboard is often used for trauma situations as this one.”
Marilyn Manson has canceled nine shows of his “Heaven Upside Down” tour following an incident Saturday night when he was injured after a stage prop fell on him while he was playing in New York City.
“Marilyn Manson is being forced to cancel several of his October dates on his forthcoming U.S. tour,” the singer’s representative said in a statement.
“On Saturday night, the legendary performer suffered an injury on stage towards the end of his set at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom causing him to cut the show short. He was treated for the injury at a local hospital and will be recuperating at home in Los Angeles.
“The shows from Boston, October 2 through Houston, October 14 will be rescheduled for a later date. Manson hopes to return to the stage soon, more details on upcoming shows to follow.”
Manson‘s next performance is expected to take place on October 15 at Grand Prairie, Texas’s Freaker’s Ball.
The accident happened about forty-five minutes into Manson‘s set at Hammerstein Ballroom as tried to climb the prop — consisting of two enormous fake pistols — which was almost double his height. The huge prop toppled and knocked Manson to the stage.
Marilyn‘s North American tour kicked off on September 27 in Silver Spring, Maryland.
He was on the road supporting his upcoming album, “Heaven Upside Down”, which will be released on October 6. On the disc, he reunites with producer and film composer Tyler Bates following an epic collaboration on Manson‘s critically acclaimed 2015 release, “The Pale Emperor”.
