Frances Bean Cobain Gets Married Without Telling Her Mom, Courtney Love
Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of Courtney Love and late Nirvanafrontman Kurt Cobain, has reportedly married Isaiah Silva, her boyfriend of five years. The wedding was apparently a surprise to her mom, who was allegedly not invited to the “small and intimate ceremony.”
“Courtney loves Isaiah, but was devastated to learn that Frances had gotten married without her knowing,” an anonymous source tells E! News. “Courtney really likes Isaiah and is very happy for Frances. Courtney is sad she wasn’t at the wedding.”
The wedding included only 15 guests, at most, according to the report.
“Frances called her after, but [she] understands why she did it. Frances needs a man in her life and has always craved stability. She’s found it in Isaiah,” the source says. “This has not caused a rift between mom and daughter. Courtney was sad, but she’s cool, and Isaiah is a great son-in-law.”
Around the time of the E! report, though, came a post from Love on Instagram, where she shared a photo of herself with James Norley, an actor and model: “If you think I’m sorry for being a no-show at any important events this week, think again.” Her comment was accompanied by hashtags like #worthflakingonanythingfor and #cancelallmyappointments.
The mother-daughter pair seemed to be getting along just fine around the time of Frances’ 23rd birthday in August. Love posted a couple throwback photos of the two of them with Kurt, dated back to when Frances was a newborn. “My greatest love and our precious Bean,” she wrote alongside one family photo, captioning the other with “Makes me feel so sad. Our baby is all grown up now. Jesus Kurt look at her face, what on earth were you thinking..?!?! God I miss you, we all miss you.”
“Thanks for letting me utilize your human form to act as my alien incubation pod for 9 months. Love you mum XX,” Frances tweeted.
