Did Dave Grohl Just Announce He’ll Resume Touring on a Broken Leg?

He doesn’t have two legs to stand on, but that apparently won’t be enough to stopDave Grohl from bringing the fireworks on the Fourth of July.

In fact, Grohl and the Foo Fighters have a marathon of shows on the slate, and it would seem they’ll make a run for it.

The veteran frontman should be keeping his feet up after suffering a nasty break when he fell from the stage during a show earlier this month at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden. Surgeons subsequently inserted screws into his fibula and ordered the showman to rest, forcing the rockers to cancel a prestigious headlining slot at Glastonbury and a bunch of dates across the U.K. and Europe.

Billboard estimated the injury could have set-back the band to the tune of $10 million in lost fees and travel expenses not offset by box office revenue.

It seems the Hall of Famer might have found a loophole in his doctor’s advice. Grohl and co have shared a tweet which suggests the Foos will be ready to play their next show slated for the RFK in Washington D.C. on July 4.

“Can’t f***ing wait for the 4th!!! See you at home, DC,” notes the Foos.

The D.C. date is the first of many North America and Europe shows posted to the band’s Website. Check the itinerary here.

Grohl has honed a reputation as freakish allrounder — a drummer, singer and songwriter, guitarist and funnyman. If he makes a surprise return in D.C., he can add “tough guy” to his skill set.
