Courtney Love Cast in Upcoming James Franco Directed Film ‘The Long Home’

Courtney Love has been doing a lot of acting lately, and one of her new gigs will be in the movie The Long Home. It’s based on the 1999 William Gay novel of the same name, with actor James Franco (127 Hours, The Interview) directing and producing the film.

Also appearing in the movie are Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games), Josh Hartnett (Pearl Harbor, Black Hawk Down), Ashton Kutcher (Two and a Half Men, What Happens In Vegas) and Tim Blake Nelson (Lincoln, O Brother, Where Art Thou?).

According to Deadline, The Long Home is a drama set in 1940s Tennessee. The plot centers on a young carpenter played by Hutcherson that’s hired to build a honky-tonk by the man who killed his father. He falls for Thomas Hovington’s daughter, who the murderer is trying to groom as a prostitute. Love’s role is Pearl, Hovington’s wife, who is forced to deal with the rapid changes in her life and her world at great personal sacrifice.

Love has had numerous acting credits over the past several months. She played a role in the hit show Revenge, and also recently appeared in Empire and Sons of Anarchy. She hasn’t turned her back on music, though. She’ll hit the road with pop star Lana Del Rey on the “Endless Summer Tour” that launches tomorrow (May 7) in Woodlands, Texas. Love will also kick off the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s “Friday Night Live at the Pool” concert series. She’ll perform May 15 with Kitten.
