CONFIRMED: CASTLE ROCK IS AN ANTHOLOGY SET WITHIN THE STEPHEN KING UNIVERSE

CASTLE ROCK is (obviously) a Stephen King centric story, just how do the new series’ showrunners plan to keep the show going for multiple seasons?

Well, the showrunners Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason were recently interviewed and revealed the series will be an anthology ala AMERICAN HORROR STORY with each season telling an all-new story set within the Stephen King universe

Sam Shaw on CASTLE ROCK:

The show is an anthology series. Every season will be a new story that’s set in this town that’s sort of like this archeological site where there are horrors and nightmares behind every door.

While we (kinda) already knew the series was going to be an anthology, this is 100% confirmation from the main creative team behind the scenes. Good to know, I say!

CASTLE ROCK synopsis via Hulu:

A psychological horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, “Castle Rock” combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The first-of-its-kind re-imagining explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories and characters.

CASTLE ROCK is written by Dustin Thomason and Sam Shaw, and executive produced by Stephen King and J.J. Abrams. The series stars Melanie Lynskey, Jane Levy, Bill Skarsgård, Terry O’Quinn, Scott Glenn, André Holland, and Sissy Spacek.

The 10-episode first season is expected to hit Hulu in 2018!
