Your childhood is back, baby! Ash vs. Evil Dead premiered Halloween night on Starz, reuniting Bruce Campbell’s Ash Williams with his trusty chainsaw. Starz is a pay channel, but they know you’re not likely to get your ass a subscription if you don’t have assurance that the shows are any good. They’re willing to put all their chips on the table, offering a free stream of the entire first episode on their Facebook page.
Not that we ever doubted them. Episode 1 of Ash vs. Evil Dead brings back everything fans loved about the original trilogy, in spades and geysers of gooey goodness. Groovy.
In the Sam Raimi-directed Episode 1 of Ash vs. Evil Dead, titled “El Jefe”:
Ash is baaack! 30 years after his last Deadite fight, badass blowhard Ash Williams unleashes the Evil in an act of stoned stupidity, bringing Deadite mayhem into his life again.
The first season of Ash vs. Evil Dead, also starring Lucy Lawless, Mimi Rogers, Ray Santiago, and Jill Marie Jones, is set to run for ten half-hour episodes every Saturday. Sam Raimi wrote the first episode with Ivan Raimi and Tom Spezialy.
