Watch Eddie Vedder Serenade Fans With ‘Take Me Out to the Ball Game’ at Wrigley Field

Pearl Jam lead singer and occasional alt-rock soloist Eddie Vedder surprised fans during the 7th inning stretch by singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” on Tuesday, May 12 at the Cub’s Wrigley Field.

Vedder, a longtime Cubs fan and Evanston, Illinois native, has performed the traditional baseball anthem multiple times during the 7th inning — a tradition dating back two decades, lead by announcer Harry Caray until his death in 1998.

Dressed in a suit and a #14 pin to honor the late Ernie Banks, Vedder half shouted, half opera-belted the anthem to a relatively un-enthused crowd. Take a look.
