Tom DeLonge Combs ‘Personal Stash’ for Solo LP

Former founding Blink-182 member Tom DeLonge isn’t letting his public breakup from the band get in the way of releasing new music. Just over a month after Blink-182 announced that their guitarist had left the band “indefinitely,” DeLonge revealed plans to release an album titled To the Stars… Demos, Odds and Ends. The LP, which will arrive on April 21st, comes directly from DeLonge’s “personal stash.” DeLonge also shared a short trailer for the album featuring snippets of four new songs:

DeLonge also launched a new website detailing the many different formats To the Stars… will be available in, ranging from traditional CDs and vinyl to deluxe editions featuring T-shirts and signed lithographs of the album’s artwork. Consequence of Sound reports that the album’s track list will be unveiled on March 16th, followed by new music on March 23rd and April 6th.

After Blink-182 replaced DeLonge with Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba at an upcoming gig, members Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker went on a vicious tirade about the “ungrateful” DeLonge backing out of plans to record a new album this year. “We booked January 5th to go into the studio,” Hoppus told Rolling Stone. “On December 30th, we get an e-mail from Tom’s manager saying that he has no interest in recording and that he wants to do his other, non-musical stuff and that he’s out indefinitely.”

DeLonge detailed a different scenario in which he was being forced into record a new Blink album. “I can’t just slam the brakes and drop years of development, partnerships and commitments at the snap of a finger,” DeLonge wrote in a Facebook missive. “I told my manager that I will do Blink-182 as long as it was fun and worked with the other commitments in my life, including my family.”
