Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Is Coming to This Week’s ‘Dr. Who’

Whovians who happen to be Slipknot and/or Stone Sour fans are getting a special treat this week: the band’s frontman Corey Taylor is guesting in the Oct. 3 Dr. Who episode “Under the Lake.”

Taylor will provide screams for an alien warlord called the Fisher King.

Taylor and the rest of the band are big fans of the BBC drama. An unnamed source told The Mirror that Dr. Who’s producers “put out feelers” when they heard Slipknot was playing Cardiff, Wales in Jan. 2015. “They gave them a VIP tour and asked if Corey wanted to record his famous scream. He agreed instantly and was made up about it.”

Viewers won’t be able to see Taylor on screen, however. British actor Neil Fingleton, a bit taller than Taylor at seven feet, eight inches, plays the monster. Peter Serafinowicz (who, incidentally, does a great Ringo impression) handles its speaking voice. Check out the episode’s trailer below:

Back on July 7, Taylor released a comedic book called You’re Making Me Hate You. Slipknot’s last album was 2014’s .5: The Gray Chapter.
