Ozzy Osbourne to Front a Metal Band in the ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot?

The Prince of Darkness was on set last week in Boston, according to a Boston Herald report.

Next year’s Ghostbusters reboot — the female-led version starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones — could be getting anOzzy Osbourne cameo.

Rumor has it that the Prince of Darkness was on set last week (Aug. 27-31) at Boston’s Citi Wang Theatre, where the Paul Feig-directed film was shooting a scene featuring a heavy metal concert. For this bit part, Osbourne would be playing a familiar role — the frontman of a metal band — for the forthcoming film.

The Boston Herald reports that its “spy on the scene” overheard crew members discussing the Black Sabbath singer and that nearby posters advertised a “Rock Revenge Fest featuring Ozzy Osbourne” as part of a “12 Hour Marathon of Metal.”

For the purposes of the film, the Citi Wang Theatre was dressed up into the Stonebrook Theatre, ready to put on a metal concert.

The film also released a casting call asking for metalhead-looking extras to “play the audience at a heavy metal concert” between July 28 and 30.

Ghostbusters is scheduled to hit theaters July 15, 2016. Sony is also planning for a male-centric Ghostbusters reboot starring Channing Tatum to run shortly after the female-led version.
