Nikki Sixx “The Article Is Bullshit. Motley Crue is Not Getting Back Together

Nikki Sixx has shot down as “bullshit” an online report that claimed MÖTLEY CRÜE was working on new music.

Sixx made his comments in reponse to an article that appears to have originated on MediaMass, a satire publication that does not publish factual stories, which claimed that the CRÜE was “finally returning to the recording studio working on a what might be a back-to-roots album.” The report also claimed that “as many as eight songs [had already] been put to tape” and that MÖTLEY CRÜE was “rumored to be planning a worldwide tour at the end of 2018.”

After the MediaMass report was picked up by several outlets, including the 97.1 The Eagle radio station in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, Sixx took to his Facebook page earlier today to set the record straight. He wrote: “A radio station recently posted a bullshit article that is getting picked up by the press because the press only wants ‘press’ SAD… MÖTLEY is not getting back together… I wish the press had more credibility and wouldn’t shit on fans’ feelings… Anything to get someone to click on their website so they can sell advertising… SAD… The press is supposed to report the news, not make up gossip or spread it….”

In 2015, MÖTLEY CRÜE completed “The Final Tour”, closing the book on the band’s iconic career after performing a total of 164 shows in 72 markets, grossing over $100 million.

Last November, Nikki said that there was “no chance” of MÖTLEY CRÜE ever making another record, insisting that the band creatively “came to a crawl.”

Asked if and his bandmates parted ways on good terms, Sixx told TeamRock: “I’m still close with Vince [Neil, vocals].” But he stressed that there is no reason for the CRÜE to ever reunite again. “No, no tour, nothing, no chance of another record,” he claimed. “I want to just leave it intact. I see no reason. We couldn’t be creative as a band, so how the hell can we continue? But I’m glad the way it finished — we did it all, we did what we said we were going to do, and now I’m excited about the future.”

MÖTLEY CRÜE‘s last studio album was 2008’s “Saints Of Los Angeles”, which was followed by a 2009 “Greatest Hits” compilation.

A tour film about MÖTLEY CRÜE‘s final shows, “The End”, came out last year, and a film adaptation of the band’s 2001 autobiography “The Dirt” is said to be in negotiations to land at Netflix.
