This historic photo was taken by a newsman outside Parkland Hospital just moments after President Kennedy’s death was announced on November 22, 1963.

Meat Loaf (aka Marvin Michael Lee Aday), age 16, is on the R. His face is partially cropped but that’s the best image I could find.

The man on the L might be his father, Orvis Aday, a former Dallas cop who claimed to have known Jack Ruby quite well. A heavy drinker, Aday reportedly frequented the Carousel and Vegas Clubs owned by Ruby.

I’m not certain this is his dad but he sure looks just like an older version of Meat Loaf. No idea who the two younger kids are.>>

<<I heard Meat Loaf tell an interviewer once that Oswald didn’t kill Kennedy. When pressed to elaborate he said he “knew things” about the murder that weren’t public, likely from his father. Meatloaf refused to say any more, claiming he had been threatened and had to keep quiet about what he supposedly knew. This was some 20 years ago so I regret I can’t post a link to the interview, I forget where I read it, was a long time ago but his comments stuck with me.

Unless Meat Loaf told someone the full story before he died, the secret went with him to his grave.
