Halestorm Cancels Show Due To Severe Illness

Halestorm canceled their show in Rochester NY tonight minutes before doors opened for the event.

Lzzy posted the following:

Dear Rochester NY,
I apologize so deeply for having to cancel tonight’s show. Let me tell you a bit about what’s been going on. Since our show in Akron Ohio three days ago, I’ve had an upper respiratory infection (some form of strep throat), where it feels like I’m constantly swallowing razor blades. I did those shows anyway regardless, and I made it through. But today, I came down with a high fever. I still wanted to see if I could pull it off so I didn’t make a decision until I test drove my voice. So, My awesome crew set everything up, and we did our soundcheck but unfortunately for the sake of my health and future voice, I had to choose rest today.
All of you know how much I hate canceling shows, and that I’d rather muscle through and risk hurting myself than disappoint you all. But that isn’t smart. And unfortunately these smart, hard decisions fall on me.
And you know what, if we were the type of band that relied on tracks and trickery to play shows, I could’ve mimed my way through and pretended to sing. But we promised a long time ago that we’d never half-ass or fake a show, cuz that isn’t rock n Roll, and you guys deserve the real deal. Anyone who has seen our live knows that I Actually sing! What you hear is always authentic, and firing on all cylinders. That also means I’m human, and getting sick and having to miss a show are the prices I pay for being real. Thank you for all of the love Rochester and I promise I will make this up to you when I’m at my best again!
I hope you had great time with our new friends in Greta Von Fleet and our buds in New Year’s Day tonight! I’m resting up, and taking care of myself, I do not take this shit lightly.
I’m willing this fever to break and my throat to reduce its swelling so that I can get on stage in Philly tomorrow and make a loud noise!
Love you all madly.
Lzzy Hale
