Greta Van Fleet’s Sam Kiszka ” We used to Beat Each Other Up When Writing Music, We tend to be very aggressive, sometimes stubborn when it comes to creativity.”

According to The Pulse Of RadioGRETA VAN FLEET bassist Sam Kiszka told Consequence Of Sound in a new interview that while he and his bandmates and brothers — singer Josh Kiszka and guitarist Jake Kiszka — may fight while creating music, it never becomes personal.

Sam explained: “It’s actually quite funny, the kind of arguments that we go through, and it’s never personal. When we’re writing or in the mode of an artist, all can be forgiven once that’s all over.” He added: “There are certain ways that we act that we don’t act like when we’re not being creative. We tend to be very aggressive, sometimes stubborn when it comes to creativity.”

Sam continued: “I think that the fact we all beat each other up on a regular basis… I’m just kidding, but really, that used to happen back when we used to write in the garage. The thing is, it’s kind of like one of those silly stereotypes that boys really get over things quickly, and we do, especially being brothers.

Sam said that “everyone plays a role” in GRETA VAN FLEET‘s creative process, remarking, “There’s a lot of very special things that happen with brothers in the band. I don’t think there’s anything that we’re afraid to say to each other, and that goes for Daniel [Wagner, drums], too. I mean, I’ve known Daniel since the first grade.”

GRETA VAN FLEET released its debut full-length album, “Anthem Of The Peaceful Army”, on October 19, landing at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart with 87,000 copies sold. The current single, “When The Curtain Falls”, tops the rock radio chart.
