Filming for Super Troopers 2 is now underway

In March, a crowd-sourcing campaign raised over $2 million toward the production of a Super Troopers sequel. Today, filming officially got underway.

Erik Stolhanske, who plays Robert ‘Rabbit’ Roto, shared the good news via Facebook.

Little is known regarding the film’s plot, though Stolhanske previously said it would be much more cohesive than its predecessor. “With the first Super Troopers, it started out as ten random scenes that were basically sketches, and from there we put a plot together. This time, we came up with the plot first and we’re plugging a lot of funny bits into it. So it’s just a different approach—maybe better, maybe not—but certainly evolved.”

Meanwhile, the website for Broken Lizard (the comedy collective behind the film) says“two of the Lizards are making out with each other in this film. There’s also going to be more male nudity.” Filming is taking place just outside Boston.

Super Troopers 2 is expected to see release sometime in 2016. Below, a video released for the initial crowd-sourcing campaign.
