Ernie Hudson to Appear in New ‘Ghostbusters’

Ernie Hudson will appear in Sony’s new Ghostbusters movie, insiders tell The Hollywood Reporter.

An original ghostbuster, who commented early on that an all-female cast “would be a bad idea” and later told THR of the line-up of actressesKristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jonesand Kate McKinnon — “Four fiercely funny, foxy, females busting ghosts … phenomenal!,” was seen on the film’s set on the last day of shooting on Saturday. It is unknown if he is reprising his Winston Zeddemore character or not. Sony, which is producing the film, declined to comment.

Hudson was a part of the original 1984 cast and appeared in the 1989 sequel, starring alongside Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Harold Ramis. THR reported in early August that Murray will appear in the reboot.

The Paul Feig-directed project will hit theaters on July 22, 2016 and also stars Chris Hemsworth.
