DMX Accused of Robbing Man at New Jersey Gas Station

A man has accused the rapper DMX of robbing him at a gas station in Newark, New Jersey this morning.

According to The New York Daily News, the accuser is a 21-year-old man who said he recognized the “Party Up (Up in Here)” artist at an Exxon station just after midnight, after which he struck up a conversation with him about music; a member of his entourage then pulled a gun, and the group stole $3,200 in cash from the man. The alleged victim said he followed their pack of black Escalades and got a license plate number, according to Newark Police spokesman Ronald Glover.

Police are in the “early stages” of investigating the man’s report, according to NJ.com. DMX was set to appear in town that night in a hip-hop concert at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. He last released an album, Undisputed, in 2012 and recently made a cameo as a prison inmate in Chris Rock’s comedy Top Five.
